FAQs
Answers to common questions
How does therapy work?
How long is each session?
How often would I come to therapy?
Frequency of therapy is usually based upon severity of the presenting problem – what brings you to therapy. I prefer to start with weekly sessions at first to get a clear understanding of the problem, get to know you, and build out a treatment plan. After some time and progress made, we may switch to bi-weekly therapy. Research shows that an increase in duration and/or frequency of therapeutic services has a direct positive correlation with mental and emotional wellness therefore I do offer extended sessions at an additional cost.
I do not offer monthly sessions for the same reason stated above.
Is what we discuss in sessions confidential?
Yes, everything discussed in session would be completely confidential outside of what is outlined in the Informed Consent and Notice of Privacy Practices signed before beginning therapy. It is highly recommended and advised that you read these documents before starting therapy as they are short, simple, and very informative.
How do I schedule an appointment?
First we would set up a 15 minute consultation call. During this call we will discuss presenting issues, what I can offer to you as a therapist, and decide if we would be a good fit. If we decide to proceed, we would schedule an intake appointment. During the intake we would get to know each other more and begin the process of identifying goals for treatment.

How do I know if a therapist is right for me?
Knowing if a therapist is right for you involves considering factors such as their qualifications, therapeutic approach, and your personal comfort. It’s important ask about their experience with your specific concerns. Trust your instincts during an initial consultation – if you feel understood and comfortable, that’s a positive sign. Also, inquire about their availability, fees, and any cultural considerations. Remember, finding the right fit might take a few sessions, so give it some time. Prioritize a therapist who respects your goals, involves you in the process, and provides a collaborative and supportive environment.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions needed varies from person to person and depends on your unique circumstances and goals. Some individuals find relief and progress after just a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. During our initial discussions, we can collaboratively assess your needs and develop a plan that works best for you.
